Country Horizon

A Duo/Trio from the South West of Western Australia who play all styles of Country Music, with the emphasis on good listening enjoying the music and having fun.

The Duo/Trio features husband and wife team, Larry Woods on Rhythm guitar and rich deep vocals, Wendy Woods on Keyboard and vocals, giving the band a very full backing sound. (Son Chad on lead electric vocals and harmonies in trio). Each singer performs individually also combine together resulting in sweet and competent harmonies and variety. The format of entertainment is always bright and cheery.

The Duo/Trio band has been privileged to win 22 different Awards including Best WA band for 3 years at the Boyup Brook WA Country Music Awards since they started back in 1991 as a Duo. The Duo/Trio band has shared their music with audiences all over Australia. Their trips to Tamworth from 1995 through to 2012 have taken in a lot of venues throughout SA, VIC, NSW and QLD and also included being a support band for Chad Morgan and a backing band for Slim(red-back)Newton.

A successful Tour of the Northern Territory with son Chad included being a support band for Anne Kirpatric at The Grand Casino in Darwin and made a huge impression on the crowd with their family appeal and talent.

At the Perth Royal Show in 2000 they were the opening act on two consecutive nights for the Adam Brand show, and in 2001 they were they the backing band for Craig Giles (NSW) on his WA Tour. In April 2005 supporting the Multi Gold Guitar winner Reg Poole on two different occasions, also the legendary Roland Storm.

2006 seen them joining up with Craig Giles again and the Multi talented Owen Blundell and Franky J Spencer also a backing band and support for Australia's Yodeling sensation Laura Downing on many occasions.

With song writing ability and cover songs the band can play for almost any type of function from Weddings to private parties, Country music nights. Also a karaoke setup has been added if needed to be set up for more versatility, karaoke can work really well when brackets are alternated between band music and karaoke music, so there is something for everyone.

Touring around Australia in 2012 took in a lot of new venues, starting in Kalgoorlie, then on to Cobar, Coonamble, Lightning Ridge, Mildura, Wentworth, Kyabram RV and Country music Corral and the St Arnaud Country Music Festival, then heading down the Great Ocean Road to Portland and finishing up in Port Pirie before trekky back across the Nullarbor to WA.

Being on Tour is what the band enjoy the most, covering the land meeting new people catching up with the friends they have made along the way. While on home ground Wendy likes to work with the young and upcoming artiste's of the future with private help and also holds workshops.
